Is the rent raised every year?
Please expect the rent to increase every year. We do this according to the agreements in your tenancy agreement. In most cases, the rent increase takes effect on 1 July. You will receive a letter from us at least two months beforehand. It states by how much your rent will be raised.
What rent increase should I expect?
The central government sets how much the rent may increase each year. Your tenancy agreement states how and when the rent may increase each year. No later than 2 months before your rent increases, you will receive a letter from us. In it we explain how much your rent will rise on July 1.
Note: has extra investment been made in your rental property? Then these rules may not apply. If so, we have made other agreements with you about rent adjustments.
How can I object to the rent increase?
Your tenancy agreement states how the rent may be raised each year. Do you disagree with our rent increase? Then you can lodge a formal objection.

I am renting a deregulated housing property
You can really only object if we do not adhere to the conditions in the tenancy agreement. For example, if we accidentally use a different or higher percentage than is stated in your tenancy agreement. You can object by contacting a.s.r. real estate. Do this within 6 weeks of receiving out letter about the rent increase. We will then assess whether we agree with you. -

You can object by contacting a.s.r. real estate. Do this within 6 weeks of receiving our letter about the rent increase. We will then assess whether we agree with you. Do we agree with your objection? Then you will receive written notice of the (partial) adjustment of the rent increase. Do we disagree with your objection? Then you can also ask theRent Assessment Committee to make a ruling.
Will you go to the Rent Assessment Committee? Then you do not have to pay a rent increase until the Rent Asessment Committee passes judgement. Does the Rent Assessment Committee disagree with you? In which cases am I not able to lodge an objection to the annual rent increase?
Are you renting a social housing property? If so, the national government has determined the cases in which you cannot object to the annual rent increase.
- After a raise, your rent will be above the maximum rent for your property.
- The rental property is not well maintained. Serious overdue maintenance is not a valid reason to lodge an objection. However, you can propose a request for rent reduction.
- You are renting a deregulated housing property. Different rules apply here for rent increases.
