Do I have to take out a fire and theft insurance?

You don't have to. But we advise you to do so. Because if things in your home get damaged by fire, flooding or burglary, you will be insured with a fire and theft insurance. There are extensive and less extensive fire and theft insurance policies. Choose the fire and theft insurance that suits you best.

Do I have to take out glass insurance?

You are responsible for replacing damaged or broken glass in your home. If you have glass insurance, the insurer will pay (part of) the costs. Your tenancy agreement will state whether you are insured against glass damage via a.s.r. real estate. You can read this under article 6 'goods and services'.

  • Are you insured through us? Then you pay for this glass insurance via the service costs. If a glass insurance has been taken out via the service costs, you can report the damaged or broken glass* to our maintenance partner.
  • Are you not insured through us? Then you can consider taking out glass insurance yourself. There are extensive and less extensive glass insurance policies. Choose the glass insurance that suits you best.

* Thermal glass breakage is excluded from coverage on glass insurance.

Do I have to take out home insurance?

No, that is not necessary. We have arranged home insurance for your home. It may also be that we have taken out glass insurance for your home. You can read this in your tenancy agreement under article 6 'goods and services'. Insurances that we have not taken out, you take care of yourself. Think of fire and theft insurance or liability insurance.
